One of the last memories I have of John Paul was the last time he came on leave from Germany He had travelled wearing a pair of cut down denims and a red vest style t-shirt it was a beautiful hot summers day when he left Germany but as usual it was absolutely miserable here, even though it was the end of July. I can still picture him when I look out my window walking down the street with his bergen over his shoulder in his shorts and t-shirt and his legs and arms blue with the cold. Phyllis
